1. The drill bit should be packed in a specially designed packaging box to avoid vibration and collision with each other.

2. When using, removing the drill bit from the packaging box should be loaded into the spring chuck of the spindle or the tool library for automatic replacement of the drill bit. Immediately return to the packaging box after use.

3. To measure the diameter of a drill bit, non-contact measuring instruments such as a tool microscope should be used to avoid damage caused by the cutting edge coming into contact with a mechanical measuring instrument.

4. Some CNC drilling machines use positioning rings, and some CNC drilling machines do not use positioning rings. For example, if positioning rings are used, the depth positioning during installation must be accurate. If positioning rings are not used, the elongation of the drill bit installed on the spindle should be adjusted uniformly. Multi spindle drilling machines should pay more attention to this, ensuring that the drilling depth of each spindle is consistent. If inconsistent, it may cause the drill bit to drill onto the table or fail to penetrate the circuit board, resulting in scrapping.

5. Usually, a 40x stereoscopic microscope can be used to check the wear of the cutting edge of the drill bit.

6. Regularly check the concentricity of the spindle and spring collet, as well as the clamping force of the spring collet. Poor concentricity can cause small diameter drill bits to break and have large apertures. Poor clamping force can cause the actual rotational speed to not match the set rotational speed, causing slippage between the collet and the drill bit.

7. The clamping length of the fixed handle drill bit on the spring chuck is 4-5 times the diameter of the drill handle in order to be firmly clamped.

8. Always check the spindle presser foot. The contact surface of the presser foot should be horizontal and perpendicular to the main axis, and should not shake to prevent drilling breakage and deviation during drilling.

9. The dust suction effect of the drilling machine is good, and the dust suction wind can reduce the temperature of the drill bit, while taking away dust to reduce friction and generate high temperatures.

10. The substrate stack, including the upper and lower base plates, should be firmly positioned and leveled in a one hole, one slot positioning system on the workbench of the drilling machine. When using adhesive tape, it is necessary to prevent the drill bit from sticking to the tape, causing difficulty in chip removal and breaking the drill bit.

11. When ordering drill bits from manufacturers, 4% of them should be randomly inspected for compliance during factory inspection. And 100% of the specimens were examined for nicks, scratches, and cracks using a 10-15x microscope.

12. Timely regrinding of drill bits can increase the use and frequency of regrinding, extend the lifespan of drill bits, and reduce production costs and expenses. Usually measured using a tool microscope, the wear depth should be less than 0.2mm within the full length of the two main cutting edges. When regrinding, 0.25mm should be removed. A regular fixed Shank Drill Bit can be reground 3 times, and a shovel head drill bit can be reground 2 times. Excessive grinding can lead to a decrease in drilling quality and accuracy, resulting in the scrapping of circuit board products. Excessive grinding has the opposite effect.

13. When the wear diameter decreases by 2% compared to the original due to wear, the drill bit is scrapped.
